Plus Gallery launches the first new exhibition of 2011 this Friday evening, an extremely complex and highly anticipated solo show by Melissa Furness, her first in Denver since debuting in our 2009 group exhibition "Brave New World."
Furness delivers an epic environment that includes a massive full-wall installation that combines painted, masked, and applied elements with a digital video composition to envelope the viewer in her ongoing exploration of history, culture, past and present. Accompanying the installation are several multi-component works that further showcase Furness' ability to create an extraordinary visual depth utilizing a variety of painting techniques across the canvas surface.....and onto the walls.
