ART CRITICISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE PANEL DISCUSSION THIS SATURDAY AT ASL DENVER 1-4PM
The Art Students League of Denver will host a special panel discussion
about the future of art criticism as part of their Visiting Artist
Series this Saturday, September 15th from 1-4 p.m.
Changes in print media have created a new paradigm where traditional
avenues of discourse by professional art critics may be in danger.
This leaves a question unanswered: Will the emergence of art blogs and
digital art publications provide an informed discussion about
contemporary art?
Panelists for the discussion are national
art critic Leanne Goebbel, artist and writer Theresa Anderson and Plus
Gallery owner Ivar Zeile. The three will discuss the fast
changing world of art criticism in print and digital media. Following
the panel discussion seminar participants will meet in small groups to
respond to the questions, briefly present their ideas to the group,
then hear closing comments from the panel.
We are not sure if there is still space
available for the panel discussion that day, but the cost is $15 for
ASLD members, $25 for nonmembers. Please inquire with the ASL if
interested.
