PETER ILLIG JOINS CITY OF AURORA ART COLLECTION

The City of Aurora Art in Public Places Program recently selected Plus Gallery artist Peter Illig to create a painting for the Aurora Fire Department History Museum, located at Fire Station #1 in the East End Arts District. The result, which is almost complete, is a 52-inch by 52-inch painting which will be installed in the lobby entrance to the fire station's museum at 9801 E. 16th Ave.  The painting celebrates the benevolent work endeavored by Aurora firefighters and joins a collection of over 35 works of art for the Aurora Fire Station Art Collection that includes works by other Plus Gallery artists including Bill Amundson, Patti Hallock, Wes Magyar and Riva Sweetrock. An impeccable collection indeed, we congratulate the City of Aurora on having fine taste and using the Art in Public Places Program to support some of Denver's finest contemporary artists.
