REVISIT BRUCE PRICE BLOG FOR REVEALING INTERVIEWS AND LOOK AT CURRENT WORK

We were confronted at the opening of Bruce's exhibition by a patron of the arts who suggested that they did not understand the works on view in "I am a Cloud," leading to a lengthy conversation about the subjectivity of art as well as the role of the gallery curator.  While it is not expected that anyone might simply understand any work of art or exhibition on its own, we suggested that all valued artists build greater understanding through the length and depth of their career.  What exists at any given point is simply a continuation from the one that preceded in most if not all cases.  With over a decade of exhibitions and accolades from wide segments of the contemporary population in Denver, Price has achieved a position which we like to consider as "tenured" and of great value, though yes, indeed, there is much mystery surrounding what his work might be about.  For those who are curious, the best source is the artist himself, and we would like to provide a good starting point with a couple of interviews from the last two years that lead up to the current exhibition:
