New Zealand artist Sara Hughes is renowned across the globe for her thoughtful and immensely vibrant installation works that range from site-specific full-environments to extraordinary gallery interiors. The book "Sarah Hughes: Feedback Runway" accompanies her two paintings that are currently on view at Plus gallery as part of our exhibition Peaking the Edge, it beautifully depicts the depth and degree of talent that has made her one of the leading artists across the globe.
Shannon Novak also resides from New Zealand, and though he is at an emerging level as a painter, we've become quite impressed with the ambition and scope of his thinking and strategy towards creating a name for himself in the arts. He is also making progress in the realm of public and installation oriented work, with a current "Shop Front" installation on view in Auckland at the Real Groovy store at 438 Queen Street. His installation "Symphonic Lineage" blends visual art with music in an abstract representation of how New Zealand music has evolved through time, social context, and physical format. The installation stands as a symbol of national pride in all that those involved in the New Zealand music industry have done to build the reputation of New Zealand music both locally and internationally.
We appreciate the efforts of these two artists from afar and encourage coming to see their excellent contributions to Denver's current visual landscape here at Plus.
