PLUS GALLERY AND THE BVLMD CELEBRATE PUBLIC ART AND THE BALLPARK / RINO NEIGHBORHOOD THIS FRIDAY, MAY 6th

We have an excellent evening planned for this Friday at Plus Gallery, we do hope you will come by and join us for a celebration of the Public artworks that were installed nearby the gallery last fall as part of the Broadway Viaduct Lower Maintenance Districts neighorhood improvement initiative.  We'll save the details on what that's all about and our involvement for Friday, but in celebration of artist Mike Whiting and Mike Mancarella's efforts we will have the following:

1. Both artists will be on hand to talk about their work. Mike Whiting is coming in from California for the event and will showing off his latest "limited edition baby rhinos."  Mike Mancarella will join us from the Rino district, he is currently making a succesful forray into the public realm and has assisted a number of world-famous artist to realize their public works both locally and across the country.  Both artists are really great guys, and both have positioned themselves nicely with prominent stature in the public realm.

2. "Pile" will be transforming the gallery interior that night!  We commissioned recent RMCAD graduate Liz Greene to create a performance piece just for this evening, based on the dynamic work that she and fellow collaborators produced to enhance Bruce Price's unique exhibition "I am a cloud" last year here at Plus.  Expect something very engaging from Liz and her crew, we are very excited for this to be a part of the celebration.  You can view her preview clip on facebook, or briefly relive one of the more special nights last year at the gallery on youtube here:

3. We have the very last keg of "Grand Cru" lined up from Great Divide to enhance the surreal qualities that might occur that evening.  Those who are not familiar with Great Divide's beer are missing out, not only is it some of the best being brewed in the country but it is brewed just a hop, skip and jump away from Plus.  Their Grand Cru is an exceptional belgian style ale, one that we are excited to have on hand

4. We will also have some snacks and kid-friendly beverages, and in general hope to make this a very fun night.

5. Finally, we have an excellent show on view at the gallery, "Peaking the Edge" with paintings from world-class artists that you have no doubt read about by now (and can read more about below).
The evening swings into motion at 5pm and will go through till approximately 8pm.  Please join us!
