Composition is continuing their retail exhibit project that was started last summer. The exhibits feature products and artwork that relate to a common theme. All of the items are hand selected and displayed together in the style of an art gallery or museum exhibit.
Their newest "PLACE" explores the relationships between consumers and objects that are location-centric. PLACE is interested in designers who utilize location and geography as the context for their work. PLACE examines how geographic connections via objects create connections between each other. The exhibit includes artwork and products from a geographically diverse group of designers. For example, Bob Kronbauer is an art director who currently lives in Vancouver, where he edits a popular online magazine called "Vancouver is Awesome." The PLACE exhibit features Bob's t-shirt designs of his favorite cities. Chris Jarratt is an industrial designer born in London who currently resides in Cornwall, the very scenic and lovely south-western tip of England. Chris designed birch plywood coat hangers that incorporate the city skylines of some of the world's great cities. The design and craftsmanship elevates the item from its traditionally functional form to a piece of art. The PLACE exhibit continues at Composition through June 20. Stop in to experience - filled with inspiration from great places!
