This timely show is both a reaction and a complement to other PST historical feminist shows around town, as it deals with the NOW of feminism, with a focus on gender politics and body issues. Beacon Arts pays homage to feminist movements of the past, including classic work by the iconic feminist artist Alexis Smith; asks the question, "what does it mean to be a woman?" with beautiful Trans-identified woman and performance artist Zachary Drucker, and gives some diverse points of view from some important contemporary feminist artists; Bijoux Altamarino, Meg Cranston, Sara Hunsucker, Amy Kaps, Laura Krifka, Laura London, Yolanda McKay, Allie Pohl and Fay Ray.
The exhibition opens this Friday, September 30th
Beacon Arts Building
